.Net being open sourced good, bad, or neutral for NZBDrone?

Just wondering if this will help Drone, or if it will be neutral? I’d be overjoyed if it made it so that we’d have a linux native version instead of mono.

I don’t expect anything to come of it for a while yet tho.

I expect initially neutral, but I hope we see better stability and support for devices running mono (its getting there, but its not there yet).

Two problems still exist, platform support for newer mono versions (2.10.8 is still the default for Ubuntu) and critics, with mono being crapware in a lot of people’s eyes.

.Net open source (not what MS has just opened) is definitely lower on the radar than other languages, but it seems to be getting better.
