n00b confused: how do I set the final sorted folder?

Hi guys,

I’m new to the whole sab/SB/couch thing and someone suggested Sonarr instead of SB so that’s what I’ve gone for.

Much nicer interface! But I’m totally confused, by something that’s probably me being dumb so pls help.

Problem: I can’t get a show downloaded, renamed and then put into the final folder

I think I understand things correctly but it’s all very complicated (for my tiring braincell):

Sonarr tells sab what to download (with what categoryi.e. tv) --> sab then downloads it and based on that category (tv) puts it into sab/completed --> then as I’ve set the drone factory to point to sab/completed hopefully sonarr will look at this folder and do some renaming magic on it —> THEN WHAT?

how do I get it to pull out of sab/completed into my D:/SHOWZ where all my shows are?

I’ve found the sonarr wiki and it talks about the terminology of “sorted folder” but nowhere does it say how you can set what that sorted folder is, and nowhere can I find that in sonarr menus.

I had assumed that teh sab/completed (where sab puts the completed shows) is that folder, and I was going to put all my existing shows into there but then I read something about NOT having existing shows in there as it may delete or something… so they must be different right? Aaargh!!!

Utterly confused. I’m thinking it’s something to do with the import path but that confuses me in the settings as it doesn’t say “this is your final sorted folder” as per the wiki terminology but someting else.
Please can someone help out a thick n00b?

I don’t think you need a drone folder, what i’ve done using this series of article http://www.cuttingcords.com/home/ultimate-server/newsgroups-and-sabnzbd

I created the category and then when you click on add show in sonarr you get a final move directory there on the settings and you put the d:\showz for your setup.

No. As long as you set the Drone Factory path Settings > Download Client > Drone Factory to the folder where sab downloads your TV Shows everything will be imported automatically."

According to the help I need drone to post process.

And I don see any option for final folder destination

well i don’t use a drone directory, only the category in sabnzbnd and the final directory output on the add show option. Sonarr picks up the episode, rename it and move it to my /TV Shows directory along with season and series name directory.

Yeah you’re right it’s all working now I didn’t realise that you set the path when you actually do the download.

Now I’m worried if I set it to rename which I have done will it rename all my other progs I already have or just the new stuff I download via Sonarr?
