Mono Version 3.2.8 Shows Up As Unsupported/Out Of Date

Sonarr version (exact version): 2.0.0.4689
Mono version (if Sonarr is not running on Windows): 3.2.8
OS: Debian 8
((Debug logs)): Irrelevant
(Make sure debug logging is enabled in settings and post the full log to hastebin/pastebin/dropbox/google drive or something similar, do not post them directly here)
Description of issue: Everything works fine except I am getting this nag message:

You are running an old and unsupported version of Mono. Please upgrade Mono for improved stability.

3.2.8 came out relatively recently, so I am assuming this is an erroneous nag message. Anyway to correct it?

3.2.8 was released in February 2014: http://www.mono-project.com/docs/about-mono/releases/
That’s not ‘recently’ and it’s much too old.

What version is needed then because the wiki recommends anything above 3.2?

Here it says 3.10 minimum: https://github.com/Sonarr/Sonarr/wiki/Installation#linux
Although that’s the absolute minimum, by now I’d go to a 4.x version, dunno which ones have been stable, so can’t recommend a specific one. (except 4.4.0 & 4.4.1, those are blacklisted too due to an bug in mono)

Where in the wiki does it say 3.2? Then i’ll update it.

It says it here: https://github.com/Sonarr/Sonarr/wiki/Health-checks#you-are-running-an-old-and-unsupported-version-of-mono-please-upgrade-mono-for-improved-stability

I think it’s written in a way to recommend users upgrade to the newest version possible, but the way it’s written is a bit ambiguous and seems to imply 3.2 or better will result in full functionality. I did fix the issue after this thread though by adding the mono repo then upgrading all the way to 4.8.1.

For future people on Debian 8 you can fix the nag message and issue by following this:

http://www.mono-project.com/docs/getting-started/install/linux/

The mono available in the repos is super out of date because of a tiny plugin issue. Apparently, this will be fixed according to a recent blog post, but until then use the method above.

Tnx, we updated the wiki. I also made it more apparent what the minimum supported version is and that 4.x is recommended.
