First off, thanks so much for the team for all their hard work on anime support. It has allowed me to effectively cut down on the services i needed to run to get all my media. So far everything is working great, but I just noticed something today on a particular series, Naruto Shippuuden. The last episode of season 16 is episode 24 (something to fill the hole) absolute numbered as episode 372. Last week, however, they aired 373, which according to Crunchyroll that has the license to dualcast it, is in season 17, and season 17 does not even exist in nzbdrone. To further complicate things, Season 17 starts on episode 336 (Kabuto Yakushi), which falls under Season 15 Episode 16 in nzbdrone. Can anybody shed some light as to where drone gets its season info and episode numbering from? Or what its based on? Any body else experience this and have a resolution?
It comes from trakt, which gets it from TVDB. My understanding is this particular series was completely mangled on tvdb and has since been locked, so it requires updating by a TVDB mod. I’m sure someone with more anime experience will weigh in and be able to explain exactly what the next steps are, but for not its a waiting game, I suspect the drastic numbering changes that someone made to match “the scene” are the reason its locked and tvdb + thexem.de will be used to sort it all out.
Thanks for the quick response and for dropping some knowledge. I suppose it never hurts to take a look at the repo and see what’s what.
What @markus101 said is about right. Some moron kept adding old episodes from season 15 into 16 without removing the old ones (because he couldn’t), he jumbled the episode numbering around, even made an empty season 17, etc. Hikaricore got sick of it and locked it down. He’s now doing it manually once every 3-4 weeks, but he often forgets that the season ran out of episodes again which causes it to be late. Nothing can really be done about that on the Drone level, you can thank TVDB for allowing random people to change stuff OR locking seasons down completely, with no middle ground in between.
If it’s any consolation: Sickbeard would have the same issue.
