Missing episodes not being automatically downloaded

First off all thanks for the hard work. NZBdrone beats SIck by now. Let’s get to the point though. I’m running Sonarr ver. 2.0.0.2301 on Win 7 x64.

I noticed that Sonarr does not download some of my episodes. Couple examples are Person of Interest and Newsroom from this week. Newsroom aired on Sunday, Person of Interest on Tuesday. My machine running Sonarr is on 24/7. RSS syncs happen every 15 minutes. Both episodes had bookmarks next to them and were being monitored. When I searched manually episodes were found and downloaded but not automatically.

Did Sonarr previously attempt to grab them and they failed? (Check History or the Episode Activity to filter everything else out).

How many indexers are you using/which ones?

Beyond that without debug logs (which you should turn on now to log if this happens again), its pretty much impossible to figure out why it didn’t grab them.

One remote possibility that comes to mind is the RSS Sync was delayed at the time it was posted, due to another job running and it was delayed for long enough that it was already off the RSS feed by the time it ran again.

It would require a pretty unlucky chain of events, but there is no harm in entertaining the possibility.

How many series do you have?
When was the last time the “Refresh Series” task ran (System -> Tasks)?

Did Sonarr previously attempt to grab them and they failed? (Check History or the Episode Activity to filter everything else out).

I searched the log and stumbled upon only Person of Interest search on November 25th with the returned error “Download failed, waiting for retry interval to expire”. I would think though that it would search for it again based on my settings but it did not since the first attempt. My settings for retry are:

Grace Period: 4
Retry Interval: 60
Retry Count: 1

How many indexers are you using/which ones?

Currently I’m using: WOmble, NZBS.in, Dognzb.cr, Nzb.su

How many series do you have? 170

When was the last time the “Refresh Series” task ran (System -> Tasks)?

Last one was around 15 minutes ago 11/26/14 10.30am

Thanks for the prompt response. I’ll also try to enable debug logging if the above doesn’t give you any more clues.

If you go to the calendar and click on that episode then click on the episode tab can you post a screenshot of what it shows? Do the same for The Newsroom too please.

It would have looked for another episode when that one failed, but there may not have been an acceptable release. I assume you did an automatic search (didn’t choose one of the releases by hand with a manual search), if so that narrows down the possible cause a bit.

Similar setup to me, though I don’t use Womble’s, approximately the same number of series though.

The refresh shouldn’t have caused any issues unless it ran last night and took hours to do so, which is pretty unlikely given the number of series.

You can enable it on Settings → General (debug, not trace).

Mine has been having issues with Person of Interest as well. Not sure why. I can’t pull up the error it gives because all my settings got wiped out during an update. I think it said something sbout the release being blacklisted.

That means it failed, likely a propagation issue (Sonarr sent it to SAB/get before it was on your usenet provider’s servers), so it fails.

I am not able to post pictures yet nor I can attach links to them in the post as I’m a new member. Just joined today. Maybe you can speed the approval process for that if there’s any ?

Nevermind. Looks like I’m good to go now.

The issue with Person of Interest makes a bit of sense, given the failure, but it should have grabbed that repack release automatically, I think I know why, I just need to do some testing around it.

Which download client are you using?

Looks like the initial failure was the issue, the repack appears to have never been on the RSS feed and looking at only indexer that has it (dog) its because it was posted and not indexed by them until 4 hours later, their RSS feed likely never published it because they rely on posting time.

Could you post a screen shot of the activity for Person of Interest while hovering over the info icon for the grab (the bottom most item), I want to see how old the release was when it was grabbed and which indexer it came from.

Not sure what happened on Sunday with The Newsroom (I got the same release about 30 minutes after it was posted) and without logs its tough to guess what happened and correct for it.

I’m using SABnzbd+

All right, here’s another one. The soup. When I searched manually for the releases it found some and they were blacklisted. So I decided to pick one and still download it. It downloaded it just fine yet since the release was black listed it would never come in by itself. Obviously before I downloaded it it only had one bullet point “release is blacklisted”. Any idea ?

Propagation. It was grabbed failed and now that its propagated it works. Not much you can do, but add a delay for grabs (Sonarr will have support for them at a global level in an upcoming release).

You are really on top of it man. Thanks for prompt responses.
