I currently have many less-preferred files found in the recycle bin I specified. I would now prefer to have those same files in the path containing my preferred TV shows. I can surely manually move them there, but this leaves me with a problem: the preferred & less preferred files would reside in the same folder–the preferred path. Outside of removing all my series & then adding them back in Sonarr to let it initiate ‘file management’, is there anything I can do that’s more elegant? I don’t want to lose all my settings found in ‘Season Pass’ when I import them again. I apologize if I’m not being super clear too. Thanks!
So you basically want to have s01e01.dvd and s01e01.1080p-webdl in the same directory?
That’s (to the best of my knowledge) not supported by sonarr. Only one file per episode.
No. Let’s say I have ‘s01e01.dvd’ in the path containing my TV series. I also have ‘s01e01.1080p-webdl’ in the recycling bin. I’d like to essentially swap these files’ locations. It’s easy enough to do with a file here & there, but what if I want to swap all the ‘dvd’ files in the path containing my TV series with all the already downloaded & recycled ‘1080p-web-dl’ files? Is this easily possible?
go to the wanted area and do a manual import, add and select the recycle bin location (or move them somewhere else first and use that), then import the ones you want to replace whats already there
that would let you replace the dvd files in the season folder with the 1080p web-dl files in the recycle bin. the 1080p files will end up in the season folder and the dvd files should end up in the recycle bin afterwards seeing as you have one setup
why did sonarr download a dvd file after you already had a 1080p file though? does your quality profile have dvd set above the 1080p variants?
have you fixed that? or is that what you want and this is just an exception? maybe create a new quality profile for this show if thats the case so sonarr wont try to download dvd files over 1080p for it (which it will if it sees a dvd file again, unless you disable monitoring for those episodes)

DVD was currently preferred in my quality profile, but I decided I wanted to upgrade my collection with already existing files found in my recycle bin rather than downloading them again.

No, I just wasn’t being specific enough, as that was only half of what I wanted–the other half being moving the current file in the preferred path into the recycling bin.
