[MAC] Import Existing Shows Not Working

Hi

I have managed to setup Sonarr fine on Yosemite.

I added a new show fine which downloaded the episodes and renamed them.

The only issue I can’t resolve yet is Importing Existing Shows.

For instance the path to the existing shows is /Volumes/Media/TV Shows

I tried to add this show /Volumes/Media/TV Shows/Arrow

Now Sonarr states it may take minutes to find the show and show the results. Well 30 minutes have passed and nothing. I have tried restarting and shutting down. The show is shown under Recent Folders but does not update the library even if I do a manual update.

Could anyone offer any assistance?

For existing series you need to add the folder that contains your series, not the series folder itself, so you should add /Volumes/Media/TV Shows

Which path did you choose when you added the new series? It have been /Volumes/Media/TV Shows as Sonarr will create the series folder in the location you choose.

Thanks for responding. That worked by directing the folder to /Volumes/Media/TV Shows

How I missed attempting this earlier, given it was so simple, makes me want people to shout at me lol.

No problem, the help text at the top of the modal intends to make that point, but maybe we could alter it to make it more clear?

You’ll also want to fix the path for the new series you added (and remove the root folders for them via the add existing modal).

The text which reads “Enter the path that contains some or all of your TV series, you will be able to choose which series you want to import” is really self explanatory and I don’t think it needs changed. On this occasion I failed fully understand it, my own fault for probably rushing.

i just installed Sonar on OS X Yosemite 10.10.3. here is my info:

2.0.0.3004
Mono Version
3.12.1 ((detached/b7764aa Fri Mar 6 15:32:47 EST 2015)

i try to ‘import shows’ by pointing to my ‘tv’ folder that has all my existing shows.

the path is /Volumes/Videos/TV/

however, nothing happens. the dialog box doesn’t change, my only options are to ‘browse’, ‘validate path’, or ‘close’ the dialog box. so i hit ‘close’ and nothing happens. i can’t even seem to add a ‘new’ show as it won’t accept the path given… perhaps i’m being dense.

Is the path accessible by the user running Sonarr?

You can either browser for the path, then press the green check mark after selecting it, or type the path in then press the green check mark.

If pressing the green check mark results in an error that needs to be corrected before you can add it.
