Description of issue:

Hi!

Here is my problem: let’s say Sonarr has downloaded a file in 720p quality. I watch it and delete it. If Sonarr finds a 1080p version of this episode before the library/series refresh, then it will download it again.
Is there a way to shorten the library refresh rate or, maybe, trigger a partial series/episode scan before a quality upgrade so that deleted episodes are switched to unmonitored instead of being downloaded “unnecessarily”?

Thanks!

Edit: nevermind, I misunderstood that you’re deleting the files.

You could use the API to trigger a rescan:

You could also set the cutoff lower for shows you’re likely to watch and delete before the 1080p release is out.

Ok thanks, I’ll try that.
Do you intend on allowing the library rescan to become a manual setting in the future?

We don’t plan to allow setting the interval as its tied to refreshing the series information as well, Refresh Series gets the latest series information and rescans the disk, rescan series is an API only command for more control but not meant to be run automatically by Sonarr.

ok thanks. Makes sense.
