Is Sonarr currently being developed and worked on? I haven’t seen a Sickbeard update in a very long time and would like to switch to something that is at least current. I have the option of trying Sickrage, which is a fork of Sickbeard, but don’t know if that is being developed either. What we need is one program to do it all. Why can’t there be a merge of Sonarr and SabNZBD+ in the same program? Makes sense, right?
I’m new here, but it seems pretty active on github, last commit 2 days ago.
I just figured this forum would be much more busier then it is. It’s not the easiest to setup and some of the docs, screenshots and information is quite old. Right now Sickbeard is working, I guess I’m just looking for a REASON to try and switch over and give it a try. Epsecially when there is Sickrage, a better version of Sickbeard out there.
Yeah, the forum seems pretty dead, which is a little disappointing. I’ve tried Sonarr over the past few days and it seems good, but there’s one critical function I for the life of me can’t manage to get working properly. No help here or on reddit.com/r/sonarr. Guess I’ll have to give Sickrage a try.
BTW, last update to the master branch was the 17th of March.
@opentoe - Development is extremely active. Depending on your platform, Sonarr can be very easy to setup. The documention is not great, but the ‘in-app docs’ (like hover text and hints) is good. It’s probably worth your time just to set it up for one or two shows to see if you like it better than SB so you can decide if it is worth switching completely.
@edvahass - reddit.com/r/sonarr isn’t actively monitored- they just grabbed it so someone else wouldn’t. The IRC channel is probably the most active help spot. I checked your forum post and the problem is that it’ll probably require someone who uses ReadyNAS to help figure out what is going on. I don’t think any of the devs or main helper people use it. It is probably worth popping into the IRC and asking about it, though.
I would say its very active.
I have been using Sonarr for going on almost 2 years I think.
Torrent support was added in just the past few months, not something I use, but the option is there. Along with a lot of other stuff (just since I started using it).
Check the moderators post and times you will see they are here often through out the day and very helpful when provided the information they need. I think they have done a great job considering multiple platform support that is offered. The develop tree is pretty active, updates about every week.
If you looking for a set it and forget method not sure this is it, but I think you’ll find good group here that will help with the rough spots.
I currently use Sickbeard and SAB on one powerful computer with 32GB highspeed RAM and SSD drives. The machine handles all my services and server type functions on my network. I don’t really use that machine for web browsing and normal use. I have over 135 tv shows that all reside on an UN-raid server which has 122 terabytes. Just filling it up.
So to switch over will take some time and getting use to.
