Installing NZBDRONE

Hi Guys

Very new to drone, have been using SB for a while and now migrating my tv to this great product as it works great and very quick .

My Question is

I installed drone last night without reading the forums, just did the normal install and ran as a windows service. Everything is working well however after reading these forums I might have stuffed up , and now worried when a update roles through i will lose all my tv shows.

The install process loaded the program to programs files( 86x) . I never specified any folders when it installed, i just let it install it self. ( its working fine and loading shows and downloading )

Do i need to uninstall and re install but specify a folder for NZBDRONE ?

It went to program files or ProgramData? It should go to ProgramData by default. In program files it would be unable to update automatically, which we don’t want, so we avoid it.

Sorry mate, I inherited this Pc to use as a HTPC and it seems there was already a NZBdrone install from 2012 which is located in the program file (86x) folder - ( see image )

But as i installed the new V2 last night it saved the new install to Programdata. ( See image )

What do you recommend i do here ? Should i uninstall everything and start fresh ? Or will the new install work fine ?

Assuming the service is starting up and pointing at v2 in program data you can delete the v1 version in program files.

If the service is incorrectly pointing at the old v1 install you could:
You could run uninstall service in C:\\ProgramData\zbDrone\\bin which would remove the service, delete the old v1 from Program Files and then run install service in C:\\ProgramData\zbDrone\\bin to re-install the service and ensure its pointed to v2.
