They automatically lock when there is no recent activity, it saves a lot of vague/unproductive posts and notifications when someone comments on a dead thread.

I seem to have jumped the gun, I did an OS update and it’s working again. After restart Sonarr sees the indexers again. Sorry about that.
There used to be a time when a forum would trust that it’s users where capable of only replying to relevant threads. I would guess the majority of your user base is trustworthy. So for the sake of the few who do not follow etiquette this valuable resource and history of the issue gets buried. Seems to be the trend lately, but it is a regression for sure. Also those people who would receive notification are the ones that know something about the issue, so sending them a notification shouldn’t be the end of the world. I mean have replies moderated or only the thread author can reply, but just seems so over the top to lock them. But whatever, I get it…
