Indexer Not Recognizing Episode from Source

Hello,

I had added Doctor Who (2005) as a series that I am following in Sonarr. When configured with an RARBG indexer it failed to match the episode with auto search - with profile set to HDTV 720p.

With manual search it was not possible to see “Doctor_Who_2005.9x01 720p_HDTV” listed as an option possibly because of the torrent naming scheme (9x01 vs S09E01). As a result I was not able to even see the torrent listed with a manual search and had to open the browser to actually find the file I was looking for.

Sonarr only shows results that the indexer returned, if that result wasn’t shown its because RARBG didn’t return it as a result. Sonarr only searches for S09E01 style episodes on RARBG as they are the most common, which is a limitation of the RARBG not accepting separate season and episode search parameters and Sonarr limiting the number of API calls that are made for searches so its not wasting resources. In this case we don’t have any current plans to season for 9x01 in addition to S09E01 release names.

What about anime? Using the Nyaa indexer I had set up a series search for Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - which would be season 2 of the show. It could not find the first episode due to source torrent name as Seraph of the End S2 - Episode 1. In this case indexer could not find anything. for cases like these do we have to setup a custom rss feed to grab downloads?

Thank you

Sonarr would search for Seraph of the End S2 1 and Seraph of the End S2 01. A custom RSS feed wouldn’t be used for search, nor does Sonarr download any item from an RSS feed.

I have the same problem with “Seraph of the End S2”, “Garo - The Crimson Moon” and “Soukyuu no Fafner Dead Aggressor - Exodus S2”(second season of Fafner Exodus, or third season if you ignore the official site listing Fafner Exodus as a new series) using the Nyaa indexer
Most of the other series i add from Nyaa seem to be ok appart from a few exceptions.

I created dummy test media files and the drone factory folder seems to pick them up correctly and knows what to do with them. So it looks on the surface like the indexer search is not looking for the right names, just guessing.

I’ve set up a separate program to do a regex match for the titles on a Nyaa RSS feed then dump the Torrents into another Transmission then have the completed files dumped into the drone factory folder till this can be resolved.

Seraph should now work. I fixed it earlier and confirmed it to be working with Nyaa.

Fafner and Garo should both be fixed now too (I fixed them earlier today) but I just noticed XEM’s cache had not invalidated. I just did that, so once CloudFlare’s cache also invalidates, these two should work. After your update the shows in Sonarr of course.

Good news, Seraph and Garo work now. Fafner still a no-go though

Fafner was suffering from a bug in XEM that made the way I linked up the episodes impossible. I made the link a lot more verbose just now and it looks like it’s working now.

Dunno, it’s still not working, maybe it’s my installation, but i have it on two different systems (both linux with mono) that do the same, quickest way to test would be when you make some changes then see if you can do a manual grab test?

Happy to report that it’s detecting fafner correctly, now this can be closed.

Thanks

All hail xelra.
