Improve Searching for Specials?

I know this would require some exception coding for the standard way of processing, but is it possible that the searching algorithim for the episode search could be changed such that if the episode being manually (maybe extend to automatic search too?) searched returns 0 results when doing the normal search, it could then do an additional search for * ?

I’ve always found that most scene releases of specials get the naming wrong when it comes to the standard S00Exx format and either name it just as “Battlestar Galactica - Miniseries - Part1” and “Battlestar Galactica - Miniseries - Part2” (as one example)… I think that getting this right via the automatic search may leave way too much room for error and so i was hoping that the manual search might be configurable/changeable to allow either a fully custom search term for which it displays the results, or else to smartly try a couple variations on the episode/special name?

I’m not sure if i’m being clear, so feel free to ask me clarifying questions.

drone already supports searching for specials via the episode title; it will automatically fall back to it if no results are found. Its not perfect, but it yields results in most cases.

We have no plans to further extend manual searching and allow custom search terms as it requires significant effort for minimal gain, getting the result to display in drone is just one part, we’d also need to support linking to the series/episode and do the same on import.
