Good Morning,
I currently use SB to download all my shows, but I’m in the process of testing NZBD. I think I know the answer to my question, but I figured I’d ask just to be sure. If I add a an existing show to NZBD, I have to force it to look for missing episodes… correct? Whereas if I add a brand new show to NZBD, it will automatically look for missing episodes?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide
~Spritz
usually Nzbdrone focuses on the most recent 100 items which is why once you get it all setup and up to date it will grab your regular shows on a daily basis however in the beginning you can add your shows and if you have some missing ones that are say more than 24 hours old then you will need to force a backlog search this is very simply though you can search an entire tv show for any missing episodes over all the seasons or you can do it for a specific season or even a specific episode
when you add a show it will ask you which season you want it to start monitoring from however as i mentioned if the episodes are not recent then it will not perform a search this is a good thing actually because in the very early versions it was possible to perform auto-searches for any shows that are added however the downside is you can end up like me and have a 30+gb Queue in sabnzbd as it has grabbed episodes i either don’t want or have watched and deleted.
Fortunately this does not happen now but to sum up yes it will automatically look for episodes as long as they are recent if not you simply press the little Magnifying Glass icon on the show page and it will perform a search
Please Note: Your indexers will need to be capable or performing a Backlog search some don’t like Womble’s index which is great but does not perform Backlog searches
Thanks for the quick reply!
One more question. With Sickbeard, I could bulk change the quality of the episodes… eg - from HDTV to 720 Web-DL. I see with NZBDrone I can do this on an episode by episode basis, but I don’t see a way to bulk do it.
Am I missing something?
Thanks!

You can use the ‘Series Editor’. It’s a couple of buttons over from the ‘+Add Series’ button.

Thanks Mal, but not quite what I’m looking for (though I probably didn’t explain it very well. Essentially all my shows from Sickbeard where 720-WEBDL, but NZBD only picks them up as 720-HDTV. I want to change all my episodes to what they actually are, but I can’t seem to do that through a bulk process.
Does that make more sense?

@Spritzup you can’t mass edit the detected quality currently. The best way to do it is have SB rename them all with the quality in the filename and drone will pick that up.
@markus101 thanks for the response! Any chance this can get added as a feature down the line? The other little thing I’ve noticed is that I can’t cycle through my shows. In SB if I was looking at a show, I had both a drop down menu and arrows to move to the next show, without having to go back to the main screen.
Thanks for a great product!
