Imported folder doesn't rename

Sonarr version (exact version):
Sonarr Ver. 2.0.0.5163
OS:
Win 10
Debug logs:
Not needed
Description of issue:
So I noticed when importing TV shows from a previously downloaded series SOnarr doesn’t rename the Folder. It fixes the titles of the files and organizes everything in to seasons if that’s not alredy done but no rename of the original folder title. Why is that? Is there some option I am missing?

Edit: I should add that the series I am importing have a Folder title that doesn’t autmatically gets found by Sonarr so that I have to replace the folder title with a fitting title then the right show appears. I select that and it gets imported. It sorts out seasons and titles all but main TV show folder title… What gives?

Further. Sometimes when I get recommended an old series Sonarr doesn’t handle it very well. They tend do be easier to download if batches like Buffy COMPLETE SERIES or something like that. Is there a way for Sonarr to scan my download directory and have it import a newly downloaded series on it’s own? Or I have to manually import?

Thanks in advance!

You’re not missing an option, it isn’t possible. This may be an option in the future, but for now it’s not changed to avoid changing it if the user has customized the name or relies on the name not changing.

Full/partial series packs are not supported, only season packs.

Thanks. I find it odd that such a simple thing is not an option. Sonarr does amazing things. So a namechange of a folder that I have selected to be a certain thing to rename it to that with proper title can’t be that hard. With that said I can’t code so what do I know. No biggy at all though…

On that second remark. You are saying it can handle season packs. How does that work ? Whenever I search it always searches for episodes one at a time. Even if I go after a whole season. Also I’ve never been able to download anything outside of Sonarr and then have Sonarr detect it on it’s own. I always have to use the import method (that I find a but clunky)…

With that said Sonarr is an amazing tool and I would gladly pay money for it…

A full season search in Sonarr searches for the full season, it doesn’t search for each episode, one by one. Though the indexer needs to return the season packs for Sonarr to grab one.

Make sure it’s in the correct category, otherwise Sonarr will ignore it. Beyond that, ((debug logs)) will show it being processed and if there is a reason it’s not picked up.

Cool. Wherer can I read more about categories? Are all torrents in cattegories or is it something I config myself in the client?

I know I select cattegories inside sonarr for what to scan for but how do I know cattegorie something is if I’m downloading outside of sonarr? Thanks.

It’ll be called category/label in torrent clients, I believe all have them except Transmission. For Transmission Sonarr uses a subfolder instead, as long as the download is in that subfolder Sonarr will pick it up.

Sonarr’s settings for each download client has the category field, if left blank no category is used and Sonarr won’t pickup torrents it didn’t add. For categories on the client side, you’ll have to check the help docs/other resources for that client.
