I have an issue with the PROPER management.
It’s awesome to be able to upgrade version to PROPER when available, but I have an annoying behaviour.
I grab a release which doesn’t contains PROPER nor FASTwhateve but coming from a Scene team which is absolutly directly a proper.
Then this release get “replaced” few hours later by a p2p team publishing something with PROPER in the name but the quality of the encode is not that good.
That’s not possible. The first scene release is never a proper. Proper means that the original release got nuked for some reason and another scene group released a fixed version. Scene rules require that fixed version to be tagged as “proper”. If the same release group fixes their release, it’s tagged “Repack”. There’s also a tag “Real”.
The order of significance is Repack, Proper, Real, but any combination of tag may exist.
If a scene group releases another version and doesn’t tag it Proper and/or doesn’t include valid reasons in the Nfo then it’ll get nuked as dupe.
However, p2p does it’s own thing. It’s a separate world with it’s own rules.
