How does Drone Factory actually work?

Do the releases show in Sonarr’s queue?
Which download client did you configure in Sonarr?

Yes they do appear in the queue. UTorrent is the configured client, and the test succeeds.

Are completed downloads in the queue? If so, what reason does it give for not importing (hover over the icon)?
Is CDH enabled in Sonarr?
Are uTorrent and Sonarr on the same machine?

Aha!

Intermediate Download path inside drone factory, Skipping.

Hadn’t known that message was even there. There are definitely more than a few discoverability issues in Sonarr.

So, I’m still not entirely sure what the message means. My paths are as follows…

/media/incomplete/
/media/complete/
/media/shows/

Torrents are initially downloaded into incomplete, then moved to complete by Utorrent when finished. /complete/ is set as the drone factory folder but with a scan frequency of zero. Is CDH unable to function if drone factory is set at all?

Only if its set to the same path, it does it to avoid trying to import something that is being imported by drone factory already.

Ah ok so it’s not paying attention to the scan frequency. In that case a minor tweak might be to make CDH ignore the DF if scan freq. is set to zero.

For now I’ll remove the DF path completely and see if CDH begins working. Thanks!

The logs would show the same message, the UI is easier to see without looking through the logs.

Drone Factory is being remove, its “hidden” as an advanced setting and even has a warning icon telling you items in your download client will be ignored if they are in the Drone Factory. It being 0 doesn’t eliminate it from being used, it just removes it from being used automatically. I think there are enough reasons to leave this the way it is and not make extra work for ourselves.

Gotcha. Intuitively setting it to “zero” seems like it would mean “off” but obviously that’s not entirely the case. Anyway, I suspect we’ve gotten to the bottom of this now, so thanks for that.

Is there a way to force CDH to check to see what’s waiting for it?

You can run the Check for Finished Downloads Task on System: Tasks, though it will run every minute.

Oh, well in that case it’s not working, because it’s been many minutes since I turned off DF. Just ran it again manually and it did nothing that I can see. There are two show episodes sitting in my completed folder that have not been picked up by Sonarr. And here’s why:

Import failed, path does not exist or is not accessible by Sonarr: /Volumes/Media1/Complete Media/The.Player.2015.S01E08.HDTV.x264-FLEET

Why would it not be accessible? It was perfectly accessible to DF…

OOPS, bad example, that file has been deleted. Duh. There is no record of the two shows that ARE in the folder, having been imported at all.

Check the log files/UI to see why it wasn’t imported.

I did, that’s where I got the above message. There is no message whatsoever regarding the 2 shows that are sitting in the completed folder.

Then Sonarr doesn’t know about them, do they even show in Sonarr’s queue? Do they have the correct label?

No they do not appear in the queue. However they DO appear in the episode history for the specific show seasons in question. Sonarr reports “Episode is downloading” and shows 100%.

Are they labeled correctly in uTorrent?

Where do you see that? The queue is used to get the download status so that shouldn’t happen unless there is an issue with the UI displaying it in the queue, which would log an error in the console, any errors in the browser’s dev console?

Here’s what I see for the season:

And here’s what I see in the logs:

No logs for the file in this example, which can be seen in my completed folder here:

Changing the log level to debug and refreshing the logs, doesn’t display anything new.

Look at the log files, not the log table.

Nothing is shown in the Queue at the moment?

Aha, I didn’t even realize there was a tables vs. files view. So here is the section relevant to this episode:

And this episode is not in queue, but the original rar folder for it is in the queue, with an error that says:

The.Blacklist.S03E07.HDTV.x264-FLEET
No files found are eligible for import in /Volumes/Media1/Complete Media/The.Blacklist.S03E07.HDTV.x264-FLEET

Could this whole issue be due to these episodes being decompressed rars?

Yeah, you need to have the video file extracted into the folder that uTorrent is reporting:

/Volumes/Media1/Complete Media/The.Blacklist.S03E07.HDTV.x264-FLEET/The.Blacklist.S03E07.HDTV.x264-FLEET.mp4 instead of /Volumes/Media1/Complete Media/The.Blacklist.S03E07.HDTV.x264-FLEET.mp4 so Sonarr sees the video file to import.
