Just curious… how does it happen that a show airing in the future gets successfully downloaded? My wife added a series (Beauty and the Beast) and I just looked at the calendar and it showed tomorrow’s episode (airs at 6:00pm) as already being downloaded. Huh? So I checked, and sure enough… its there. How’s that happen? Is that some rogue studio insider sharing?
Well for one, if it popped up on the RSS feed it would be downloaded: https://github.com/NzbDrone/NzbDrone/wiki/FAQ#how-does-nzbdrone-find-new-episodes
As for how it was there in the first place:
- Its a fake, they happen, though not too frequent
- The data from tvdb/trakt is wrong - these are usually sorted with a couple days
- It airs somewhere a day earlier and was uploaded - which it does in Canada: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beauty_&the_Beast%282012_TV_series%29#Broadcast
This isn’t the only show that airs in Canada a day early, there have been others, in which case the show gets released from a Canadian broadcast instead of a US one.
There is also Legit leaks, Dexter was like a week or two ahead because the episodes were being leaked before debut.
Right, that too. Homeland was over a month early.
The day early is often the US networks airing a day behind the Canadian ones. Castle (2009) is another example of this: http://castletv.net/shock-as-castle-premieres-a-full-day-early-in-canada/
