Description of issue:

here is my ordeal

  • rasperry pi with sabnzbd in a house several miles away with a 20Mbps connection
  • windows 10 computer with sonarr installed
  • freenas server with all my stuff

So I have successfully connected a sonarr and sabnzbd on a local machine, and both do their awesome dance together. Me being a little too impatient (a 1Mbps connection and 300GB of data can do that to me) decided to setup a Sabnzbd instance in another house a few miles away where I get about 20Mbps.

So to be able to see my Sabnzbd I used a little piece of software called Dataplicity (www.dataplicity.com) which creates a visible connection without punching holes thru the router. It works beautifully. I had to use Apache to proxy into Sabnzbd since Dataplicity only opens port 80. Nothing too fancy.

I can access Sabnzbd correctly thru Wormhole. I can add nzb’s manually. I can have couchpotato add nzb’s. I can have sickrage do that to. They both use the Dataplicity wormhole https address. No problem. However for the life of me I can’t make Sonarr connect to Sabnzbd. The error is that I need to have a host without http://. If I remove the https:// and only use the path in the form dataplicityusername.dataplicity.net/sabnzbd it says it can’t connect and testing failed. Logs only show that the path is not in the correct form.

What gives?

Thanks

The Host field for setting up a connection to SABnzbd is just that, a host, so it would be dataplicityusername.dataplicity.net that you need to enter there. Specifying a URL base (/sabnzbd in this case) for connections to SABnzbd is not possible in Sonarr at this time. Most torrent clients in Sonarr support it due to the existence of seedboxes, but usenet clients are generally run locally or via means that don’t require the URL Base so it was never added.

If you’re able to use the URL directly (might be a pain with the apache proxy) that should work, but nothing else will at the moment.
