i found it and you can set it to pause the download as well i can’t tell if it is doing a good job or just being picky granted the files i am loading are older ones and probably in fact are incomplete
TBH i am liking NZBGet it is lightweight and fast and i intend to test out for a week or two but at this stage i feel i might head back to sabnzbd i have never had a problem with it and rock stable for me i just like checking out new software if i didn’t i would have never found NZBDrone and still be stuck on Sickbeard still
same here, i got it setup on my mac and it works good, however i need to be rock solid on my unRaid box so sabnzb is the choice here. I have an issue with my drone stopping/crashing on my unraid box every few days. I have to search the forums on lime-tech since its an issue. Anyhow good to hear you found it.
thanks actually first time i had heard about it is in the post (i have been offline for a while whilst i moved) i have been a little out of touch with some software
You are right about sabnzbd it think it is just really well developed like NZBDrone and although written in python makes it a little chunkier than NZBGet it is really stable and blends perfectly with NZBDrone and a lot more support for it as it is more well known and established
I just let NZBGet running today whilst at work and i come home and some files downloaded and others did not not sure why never usually have this problem with sabnzbd especially on New 0-Day files so although it is functional and does it’s think and i wanted to like it i just have no reason to switch to anything other than sabnzbd my server is more than powerful enough to run it i could see the benefit if running on a Low spec NAS or something but otherwise no performance increase or decrease noticed between the two
The one redeeming feature to NZBGet is that the file checker is quicker and more thorough sabnzbd does have this feature but i think it needs a little more work to be able to detect stuff
Glad i tried it out though it is always interested to check out alternatives to products you use and have used for a long time because they work so well and you are curious how they stack up
Yeah in it’s defense though it was trying to get older episodes that may have been incomplete but it just sat there for ages not rejecting them and not trying to download them basically just sitting on like 10kb/s and not moving it just needed to either have some sort of timeout where if the download doesn’t start after a certain time it either rejects or pauses it and continues down the list i think this feature may exist but for my situation it did not work.
Update:
I was contact by the developer of NZBGet he goes by HugBug on these forums and he asked if i could if i see any problems provide him with any logs or anything that might help him improve the software TBH he sounds a lot like markus101 in the way he actually cares what the users of his software think and wants to continue to improve it which is always a good thing
