Just installed linuxserver/sonarr from docker on my Synology DS716+. No problem running, however I am unable to add any paths for downloads. Have added read/write permissions in DSM Can anyone help me out deciphering my log?
I´m afraid I´m guilty of downloading stuff I don´t know enough about! I was excited to get the Docker containers running, but then the errors started popping up , so I guess I´ll revert to the trusted and tried synocommunity packages. For some reason Sonarr from synocommunity won´t install . I wonder if it still isn´t compatible with my NAS hardware… .
Appreciate you trying to help me out. In desperation I removed all packages and Docker containers yesterday. Not sure if there is any point reinstalling. Here were my issues:
The Mono package doesn´t even appear in the selection of SynoCommunity pkgs in Package Center ( It does on my DS110J )
Tried installing Plex for Intel NAS from Plex.tv and got - " This package is not supported on the platform of DiskStation ".
If these packages are not compatible with my platform, it´s beginning to look like I will still have to use my MacMini for all this stuff. Frustrating as this kind of defeats the purpose of my DS716+.
The Mono package has braswell support, so it should be available. Probably still need to set up some stuff in package center.
Open "package center"
Click "settings"
Set “trust level” to "Any publisher"
On the tab “Beta” select "Yes, I want to see beta versions!"
On the tab “Package Sources” add “SynoCommunity” (http://packages.synocommunity.com) and “SynoCommunityBeta” (http://packages.synocommunity.com/?beta=1)
Save and go back to “Package Center” and select the “Community” category.
As for Plex:
You should note, that the next public version of Plex will support the DS716+. Currently, only the Plex Pass version supports it.
Haste makes waste. You´re a saviour. Setting up Package Center correctly has now permitted me to add all the packages. Plex (Plex Pass version ), Sonarr, CP, NZBGet. I´ll configure them and let you know how it went.
OK. As far as I can see all permissions (local users?) are set in Shared Folders, but apparently Sonarr and CP won´t allow me to write . Sonarr log shows:
System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Root folder path ‘/volume1/test/’ is not writable by user 'nzbdrone’

The user “nzbdrone” is created by the Sonarr package. It’s part of the user group “sc-media”.
Go to “Control Panel”, “Group”, and edit permissions for “sc-media”. On the tab “Permissions” give read/write access to your tv directory.
Try and stay away from tweaking the permissions on the *nix shell layer, as that will cause serious issues. All access rights need to be configured in the DSM layer.
I don’t have CoachPotato installed, but probably something similar.
Man, you should get paid for this! Never thought about checking the “Group” permissions. That solved the issue with Sonarr, but somewhere I have the wrong settings for NZBGet as I get - “Could not create file /volume1/downloads/tmp/nzb-1.tmp”. Sorry about pushing my luck, but any idea what I´ve overlooked?
Good news is Plex is running nicely and has so far tackled anything I´ve thrown at it
Edit: Never mind. Think it had something to do with creating a shared download file after downloading NZBget. Works now.
I don’t use NZBget so I don’t know if it requires the scripts to be in a specific location.
If not, just paste them somewhere through DSM. Otherwise the directory is probably not accessible by dsm, and you’ll need to enable ssh access, and connect with putty and winscp. username root and password same as the admin user.
If you need to alter them after uploading, install the nano package, it’s a pretty straight forward text editor.
Couldn´t stay away for long. On my desktop version of NZBget I used the subliminal pp for downloading subs. Any suggestion how to get subs for my Sonarr downloads ?
That won’t work, as Sonarr currently only transfers the video files. Either use subliminal pp in Sonarr (as Sonarr also supports post processing scripts) or have a subliminal or other tool (I like autosub-bootstrapbill but that’s Dutch / English only) to regulary check the TV dir.
