Grab Recent Releases Matching Quality Profile If Available; If No Recent Release is Available Grab Old Release Matching Quality Profile

Good afternoon,

I would appreciate a feature to select a preferred age cutoff. By this I mean a scheme similar to below:

  1. Set a preferred age cutoff, such as N = 300 days

  2. If a release matching my quality profile is found with age less than N, then grab that release

  3. If no release is found with age less than N, then grab a release with age greater than N which matches my quality profile

This feature would be nice because some people have an unlimited provider with a short retention, and use block accounts to grab out of the unlimited providers retention. This would allow the unlimited provider to be used preferentially so as not to drain the block accounts unless needed.

If there is already an option to do what is described above, I was not able to locate it.

I realize that there is an option to set a global retention, however this makes it so if nothing is found within that retention the automatic search will fail.

Thank you all for the great program!

Newer releases are preferred already, though there is a lot of prioritization at work and we’re making some improvements there. If the best wanted quality release is older it will be grabbed over a lower priority newer release, quality being the most highly ranked aspect of the prioritization.

I don’t see there being much we can/will here except improve how things are prioritized.

Okay, no problem.

I have worked out how to manually do what I requested which is working out pretty well:
First entering desired cutoff in the global retention setting, searching for content, and then changing the global retention back to 0 to grab what was not found on the first search.

Thank you for the response.
