Getting Release from Indexer Failed

Latest Sonarr for Windows. Trying to download manually as it’s not pulling things down automatically. Finds an episode on The Pirates Bay Indexer which routes thru Jackett. The result shows the title of this thread. Thoughts?

Now I can see maybe there is some kind of caching issue? Not sure but when I go to Jackett and manually search for General Hospital S56 E14 I get the below which are a lot more results than within Sonarr which just has two one that fails above but says there are 21 people downloading and one that says not enough seeds.

Note uploaded PNG seems to not be showing, however result was about 8 torrents that had at least one seeder.

Jackett is telling Sonarr the torrent doesn’t exist, either a problem with Jackett or the indexer.

That means Jackett isn’t translating the search request Sonarr sends properly.

Please use the support template for new threads, including version and linking debug logs.

If I search in Jackett for “General Hospital S56E14” it returns the same results. If I search for “General Hospital S56 E14” without the quotes of course and space between S56 and E14 it returns a bunch of results.

Jackett needs to translate the search properly for each indexer, Sonarr searches in a standard, consistent way for Newznab and Torznab indexers, if a space needs to be present for the search to work, then Jackett would need to insert it when it translate the search request to a search against the indexer, but given the space is not standard I don’t know if it’s something they’d want to do.

I can tell you that the way the content is being passed to Jackett, it’s returning what it should or what it returns if I do it manually. What I can also say is even though it just returns Pirates Bay links, if I try to download them manually thru Sonarr it says “Getting release from indexer failed”. However if I go to pirates bay myself and select the magnet link I can download it manually fine. Log from Sonarr that’s relevant:

Yeah, something is failing within Jackett and throwing the error that it can’t be found. They’ll need to address it.

OK, not that the Jackett guy is acknowledging requests, however so you are saying Sonarr is making a request of “General Hospital S56E14” with no spaces between season and episode. And this is how it should be. And expectation is Jackett should take what you sent, and convert it to “General Hospital S56 E14” with the space as all the torrents use it with spaces and even if they don’t spacing them out allows for more accurate finds, but it’s their job to interpret what Sonarr sends and Sonarr shouldn’t be breaking it out when it’s the one submitting the search request?

No, Sonarr makes a request with either the tvdbid, rid or some other identifier or a query with the title and separate parameters for the season number and episode numbers (check the debug logs to see the URL it’s requesting).

They don’t need to break anything apart, they just need to construct it in the correct way to get results from the indexer. Though as I’ve said a space between the episode number and E is standard/that common, so this may be something they don’t want to deal with.

Really the underlying problem is the tracker, on a real indexer searching with or with the space shouldn’t matter as the details would be extracted out and the indexer would look it up by title, season and episode numbers. In the case of most trackers that Jackett is sitting in front of they don’t index the content beyond the title as a single block.
