Here are two examples of French TV shows that are perfectly found in TVDB but in Sonarr, end up without title.
Because of it, cannot be added in Sonarr.
***My best guess would be that Sonarr is looking for an English title… (variable in API maybe? don’t know)
Still, this is a bug that I hope will be look into sooner than later… Not just a question of metadata language…
I say that because it looks like it’s in “ideas/enhancement”… which isn’t IMO. It’s actually a core feature of Sonarr; adding a new show.
I got rid of Metabrowser not so long ago to let Sonarr handle all renaming of the folder and files.
With this issue, additionally to not being able to add French TV shows, I can’t use it to manage the renaming (since for some of them with English titles, episode titles are all TBA… useless)
I really hope this will be resolved because for anything in English natively, perfect solution but this forces me to reevaluate adding MetaBrowser back in my environment or switch to Sickrage (at least temporary I guess because Sonarr is REALLY superior IMO).
I have faith besides this (and generic torrent rss indexer) Sonarr is really perfect for me.
Skyhook itself isn’t a problem, the skyhook code can handle other languages, it just isn’t enabled. Sonarr can’t atm.
There are a few more things involved in proper operation with other languages.
We simply haven’t gotten around to implementing it yet.

As for skyhook vs tvdb. Skyhook cleans up the tvdb data, adds timezones, tvrage id. There is very little validation in tvdb, and the api results are regularly little more than junk.
Without skyhook, that neat little calendar you see in Sonarr wouldn’t work.
Damn, I wasn’t sure if this was an issue or not. I used to have 19-2 (french) in my Sonarr, but now that I’m running a new install on my new server I can’t re-add it. Guess the best thing to do will be to try to get English language entries of these shows on TVDB.
It only works if TVDB also has English version of TV show… (and also the English version often has all episodes named "TBA"
Really useless if, like me, you also have French TV shows… REALLY looking forward for French support with TVDB (yeah, I still have hope lol)
