Folder "tv-sonarr" keeps getting re-created (after I delete it)

Sonarr version (exact version): 2.0.0.4326
Mono version (if Sonarr is not running on Windows):
OS: win10
((Debug logs)):
(Make sure debug logging is enabled in settings and post the full log to hastebin/pastebin/dropbox/google drive or something similar, do not post them directly here)
Description of issue:

  • I have a “do wnloads” folder where ALL downloads are placed from qbittorent and from sabnzb.
  • I have a “TV” folder where Sonarr is moving all shows to (from the “Downloads” folder.
  • This works as expected about 9 out of 10 times. However, a few times a day a folder named “tv-sonarr” is being created in the “downloads” folder and it has TV shows in it. They are NOT being moved to the “tv shows” folder.
  • I am not downloading shows via another method than Sonarr.
  • Sabnzdb has been configured NOT to do any TV sorting or using categories.
  • In Sonaar I have set the “cateogry” of Sabnzdb to “default”.

Every morning I go in an move the TV shows to the correct folder, delete “tv-sonarr” and it starts all over again!

thanks for any help!

Sonarr doesn’t create folders in the download folder (or move files there), sounds like it is being created by your download client (either SAB or another one you are using). Another possible cause would be a series folder set to use that folder (you can check Series Editor to confirm).

I think I found it. Sonarr creates the folder via the “category” setting in the download clients (sabnzbd and qbittorent). Once I set the “category” field to {blank} sonarr stopped creating the folder.

The download client creates that folder, it is recommended that a category is used to separate TV downloads from other downloads and to allow Sonarr to process downloads that it didn’t grab.
