Description of issue:

Hi, I’m new to sonarr. I wanted to use sonarr only to scan my eipsodes and show me missing ones and upcoming ones. Therefore I don’t want to give sonarr write access to my media folders. But when I try to add a path the warning mentioned above is presenting.

Why does sonarr need write access to my media folders. Am I able to disable the features which need write access and just use sonarr to notify me which episode is missing?

Thanks for your help

Sonarr expects to manage the files, which requires read and write access, you’d need to allow write access, add the location and then remove it, but you may end up with a health check warning saying Sonarr doesn’t have write access (not sure off hand).
