File Size Limit Calculation

My wife asked me to grab the series Dexter for her that is run on Showtime. Since I’m backfilling episodes, most of them are BluRay Rips at 1080p and subsequently are very large files. I was checking few manually and noticed that some are being flagged as too large and others are not.

For example, Dexter S05E11 (Bluray-1080p) is listed as 6.2GB and gives an error of “Release rejected” because it exceeds the imposed size limit.

However, Dexter S05E12 (Bluray-1080p) is shown as 7.2GB, but is not a rejected release.

Does anyone know why? I use OZNZB as my indexer.

The size limits allow for some leniency for premieres and finales (both season and series), premieres are easy, episode 1 in the season/series, for finale’s it only applies if there are at least 10 episodes in the season and its the last listed episode, so in the case of S05E12 its considered a finale.

This is in place to deal with double episode premiere’s and finale’s that are not released containing multiple episode numbers.

Gotcha. Thanks markus101. That makes sense as to why only E01 & E12 were not flagged.

Have a good evening and thanks for your lightning quick help!
