I did search and read the posts that came up but didn’t see my exact issue… Basically i would like when Sonarr moves completed downloads to use the date they were downloaded not the air/creation date due to the addon i use in kodi and sorting by date anything older i download doesn’t show up in my list…

The date change option is set to none in Sonarr which i assume makes it just leave the file creation date from the archive it downloaded? Is there a way to force it to use the actual download date? thank you…

P.S. i hope i gave all the info needed… hate to be that guy

You did and you aren’t.

Sonarr doesn’t actually extract stuff from ‘archives’, your download client does. So that behavior depends largely on them. But yes generally Modified date is preserved when you ‘unpack’ archives. The creation date is normally the date the file was added to the filesystem.
The ‘Change File Date’ option you found indeed leaves the Modified date untouched.

The quickest way for you to get it to do what you want is to add a post-processing script, either to your download client in as Settings->Connect->Custom script in Sonarr.

It’s possible for us to add it to the dropdown but it’s actually a bit tricky coz the component responsible for modifying those dates is unaware of the import date. Still possible, but not something I can add in 15 min.

Ahh thank you! I am using Sabnzbd… and i was actually still using .72 until today ( i should upgrade more since it was 4 years old) i will look through options but knowing sonarr doesn’t change it points me in the right direction  thanks again!
