Nothing has been downloaded from today. I check the calendar, and select the missing episodes and do a manual search.
When I select an episode to download, I see “[POST] Internal Server Error : /api/release” pop up.
When I check Logs - Table, I see this error: “NzbDroneErrorPipeline Request Failed: Value can not be null. Parameter name: remoteEpisode.Series”
I’m getting the same errors as of today. Looks like an update was pushed out today. Maybe this has something to do with it? I can get one or two shows from today to download, but like 6 other shows throw the error. It had been working flawlessly for months until today.
i had the same thing where the majority of today’s episode didn’t grab so i am currently in the process of manually searching for them and clicking download on them even though they are marked as blacklisted as more often than not just cause they are blacklisted there is nothing wrong with them just for whatever reason they get marked as such and not grabbed (i think something to do with propagation)
@markus101 love the work you’re doing, but is there any way I can disable auto-updates? breakages are starting to become a regular thing. it’d be nice to be able to stay with a stable version until a newer one has been tested more.
The update today addressed an issue with two similarly named, but different shows (among other things), The Blacklist and Blacklist, due to this change series need to be refreshed (which happens automatically). Any show that starts with The, A, An, etc will be affected. And this was tested for a week prior to it going live, as most changes are.
The reason for the blacklisting is nothing new, it’s propagation issues, again and they will likely keep happening, the best way to avoid them is to use an indexer that uses the same server as your primary server, but tonight was especially bad, mostly delays because Astraweb had major issues.
Again, the update did not cause the blacklisting, things are tested by over 100 users on the dev channel before going live, some things less than others, but typically a day or two at a minimum.
Btw, can’t look at the logs on mobile, because it requires a mobile app and then requires an account, lame, but I assume given the brief error snippet it is caused by the change mentioned above. If not, let me know.
Yes, I noticed when I tried again the only show that wouldn’t auto-download was The Following. That would fit with your explanation.
I do use 2 different indexers, but no idea if they use the same server as Astraweb (or how to find this information)
Seems that dog does, based on my lack of issues anyways. Could probably ask, not sure if they would be forthcoming, but given the propagation issues, its becoming important to know.
I found something interested in my release restrictions in my settings i put REenCO because the releases are a smaller quality and lower overall quality and i was getting these all the time anyway the release restrictions did work and prevented these episodes from downloading
but after looking in a trace log after starting a RSS sync i noticed the REenCO versions of the episodes that did not download today where present and were flagged by the rss sync process but because of the release restriction it skipped over them
so i removed REenCO from my release restrictions and ran another RSS sync and straight away it found those missing episodes and sent them to Sab but of course it was the REenCO so for some reason it works when having REenCO allowed but it just does not seem to find the other episodes from more well known groups like LOL and 2HD and Dimension, etc… perhaps this may have something to do with how these REenCO episodes where uploaded compared the the bigger groups i mentioned above like you said @markus101 it could simply be a case of the usenet providers we use are slow to recieve these shows from the uploaders server which if i remember correctly is usually Astraweb
(I have a Tweaknews.eu Block and Newsgroupdirect Block)
Perhaps the fix for this issue is having to switch providers most likely to one that will end up costing more but this looks like the only solution at least until torrents are supported
Also just for shits and giggles i did find something else interesting i installed sickbeard to test if it was doing the same thing and suprisingly not i added two of the shows that had missing episodes from today and the missing episodes where grabbed straight away in sickbeard
Just to chime in - I run the dev version, on linux. I rarely notice problems. So @markus101 really does a good job of testing before he even releases the dev versions.
If you’re having problems, it’s usually not ‘just’ drone. It’s usually a combination of 2-3, or more, services, which is impossible to test thoroughly.
@protocol77 since the propagation issues have been resolved (last night’s batch) your test doesn’t really test anything, except confirming restricted releases works. If the 2hd and lol releases were blacklisted or have fallen off the recent RSS feed they would be grabbed automatically.
I can confirm that things seem to be a lot better today. Both automatic and manual downloads are working for the 5 or so shows I tried/observed. Sounds like the folks over at Astraweb had one too many green beers yesterday or something.
If it has been a little while (about half hour to 1 hour) since these were first grabbed and subsequently rejected and blacklisted they may be available now so you can do the manual search and still start the download even though it is blacklisted or you can go into the blacklist section and either clear the blacklist list and on next RSS Sync it will attempt to grab them again
it is probably like just mentioned above where NzbDrone has tried to grab a episode that has not fully propagated or sync’d across to the servers you connect to so it sees the files as incomplete and rejects them based on that however if you wait a while in like 98% of cases when you try again a little later on they will download just fine
@powerpenguin what do you need help with? Do you mean whole seasons?
drone blacklists if the download failed in SAB, which is either legitimate or related to propagation issues (newly posted episodes only). Typically when all results are red it means they were all tried and all failed.
It tells me in drone that it has been blacklisted ie episodes of say supernatural that I want in SD there are literally no SD options and these eps are a few weeks old. It is happening with a couple of shows I am after eps from.
Well you can either retry one or look for another source, this is common with usenet, files are often removed after a short period of time (look into DMCA takedowns).
