WEBRIPs are being renamed to WEBDLs.

A couple of things are considered the same quality, for example:
HDTV & HDTV.480p are considered SD.
BDRIP (which is BDRip.480p) is considered DVD.
WEBRip is considered WEB-DL.

There have been requests to add more distinctions but we’re have to strike a balance between simplicity and completeness. We’re still in the process of designing something that will satisfy both.
You have to understand that it rapidly becomes verbose once you consider PDTV/SDTV, DVD, HDTV, WEBDL, WEBRip, bluray on one side and 480p,720p,1080p,2160p on the other side.

If Sonarr wants to consider a WEBRIP a WEBDL internally that’s fine with me. But when those internal considerations are output to the filename, that could lead to some problems I think.

ie. “Why do I have this WEBDL sourced video on my hard drive and it’s such poor quality? Oh, Sonarr must’ve renamed it.”

Thanks for all the great work you guys are doing.

I have the same issue, because it’s renaming webrip to web-dl my subtitle tool is no longer able to find the correct subtitles as no web dl exists for the episode. So now I have to download all these subtitles manually. Is there a way to prevent sonarr from renaming web dl to webrip?

Agree, subtiles will have an issue when used with ie. addic7ed
My minimal match is source, but that one is messed up now …
