Hi All. I’ve been using SickBeard for a while now but recently decided to try Sonarr - which I think I prefer to SickBeard.
The only difficulty that I’m having - and I freely accept that it’s probably me not Sonarr - is with naming the episodes in the format that I require. Incidentally I had a similar problem with SickBeard.
What I’d like is for the relevant folder - let’s say Justified - which is on my D: Video & Audio Entertainment drive as a sub-folder of TV Shows to contain all episodes for all seasons in the following format:
\TV Shows\Justified\Justified s06e01.mkv Is this possible and, if so, how exactly can I do it?
I’ve tried various combinations under Episode Naming but just can’t get it right.
Rather than go through all the permutations I’ve tried I’ll just appeal to any members who might be able to help.
you can update/rescan your library and get old files renamed if you want.
you can have season folders or not. it’s a setting.
don’t forget to play around with it, because the best part of using good software is learning to use it to your benefit and need. i bet you could have figured out the answers yourself way faster than getting a response in the forum.
Just want to chime in here, and say that (if possible), you want to keep the quality in the filename…
If anything ever happens to your installation, sonarr will have to guess what the quality was, based on extension (and size, I believe), which is not neccessarily always correct. If it’s included in the filename you’re always 100% sure and neither you nor sonarr has to take a guess later on.
Thanks again all. Everything now working as I’d like it to and I’m very pleased with the way Sonarr works. Based on my experiences so far I think it’s superior to SickBeard and easier to use.
