Editable or custom metadata

Hello folks,

I have to make some important requests, that I believe to be relevant, even more because I’m not from US, but Brazil.

–> Downloaded metadata for series sometimes need to be “fixed” or “adjusted”.

Just like Emby Server, it would be extremely useful to allow us to edit any metadata downloaded, or AT LEAST create a “custom version” of them to be showed in the listings.

Example: I need to translate some series name or episodes names, especially the ones my kids watch.

–> Give us the option to choose from which source the metadata will come.

Some series have differente episodes numbering… Example: LOST season 1. Some places call the two last episodes as 1 , some split them apart and count 2.

The problem is: Sonarr doesn’t let me choose which of them I consider. It is very disturbing having media and not being able to fit it in Sonarr.

If those two above would be implemented, life would be much easier!

Then it should be updated on TheTVDB, we have no plans to allow it to be edited.

Give us the option to choose from which source the metadata will come.

At this time we have no plans to support another metadata source, we had considered adding TVRage support, but they’re recent months long outage doesn’t give it much of a chance.

At least you could create a additional “Custom series name” for each series and “Custom episode name” for each episode?

This way the actual and original names won’t be altered, and the listings could show the custom names (if filled).

You have to consider you have user that live outside US and need to translate their data.

Definitely not in our plans.

That would come from the metadata, once Sonarr supports multiple languages for a series.

Thanks for the patience.

I spent some time getting to know better about TheTvDb, and so far it had my language in most shows I searched so… Looking forward to multi language support.

Its not something we’re actively working on is all I can really say.
