My dronefactory is not being scanned for episodes.
It’s setup properly and used to work fine. I do not even see it mentioned in the logs.

What is your scanning interval set to?
Does a manual scan triggered from the Wanted page work as expected?
Kicking it off manually seemed to get it scanning again every two mins…
However and episode I have in the is stuck.
Non-sample file detected: [C:\Downloads\DroneFactory\How.Its.Made.Dream.Cars.S02E18\How.Its.Made.Dream.Cars.S02E18.mkv]
That line is repeated every two minutes in the logs
Debug logs will show why its not being imported.
I would like to request that the UI shows what is in the dronefactory and show’s the reason for not importing.
I looked through the logs and I can’t see a reason for why it doesn’t import.
Even so there is nothing wrong with the episode so it would be super nice to be able to force the import and ignore the complaints.
Many times I can find a release a lot easy directly on indexers websites or nzbclub. So it would be great if drone factory worked a little better.
Drone Factory is not the recommended way to import episodes and we don’t have plans to extends its functionality, though we have some plans to make the import process better for episodes Sonarr can’t import.
Well with all the episode numbering problems within Sonarr and the fact that it’s providers cannot be trusted to have proper episode lists, it’s just getting frustrating. There are now a growing number of shows where season number or episode numbering are not matching the releases. We can’t only rely on websites maintained their own way. Having some ability to force or modify the numbering would be great.
Also can I ask what is the point of DroneFactory if it’s not intended to be used the way I am wanting to use it?
Wheemer,
Thexem is a great way to resolve any numbering issues you’re having. While I agree it would be nice to override numbering issues locally, it’s also nice that fixing them on thexem fixes the issue for all current and future sonarr users.
Edit: Any reason you’re not using completed download handling? Drone factory used to have it’s place, but CDH is so much more efficient IMHO.
I thought Sonarr uses thetvdb.com now? I tried to edit the shows to fix them but they are locked.
The two shows which are always causing grief ar “Fat N Furious” and “Fast N Loud”.
How does thexem fit into the picture? Because I already know when changes are made to thetvdb.com it is reflected moments later in Sonarr. I had already successfully fixed a previous show on thetvdb.com, then about an hour later a mod came by and reverted my changes.
I do not want my video collection to be affected by ridiculous mods that are hard set in their wrong ways.
Sonar really needs a way to handle these fixes locally.
Also I have Sonarr handling the downloads it kicks off already. These are for problem episodes cause by the root issue I’m talking about.
For example Fast N’ Loud - 0x22 - Demolition Theater: The Outlaw Way will not find anything automatically. If I manually scan it finds Fast.N.Loud-Demolition.Theater.S01E12.The.Outlaw.Way.720p.HDTV.x264-DHD
So I click to download it, yet there us nothing Sonarr can do with this file. When the download completes it just sits in activity with no options. If I click manual import (which sounds nice) it actually just deletes the episode completely.
I’ve not explored it myself but I believe this is exactly what thexem is for. You’d add the show to thexem and tell it that Fast N Loud 0x22 was actually Fast N Loud S01E12 and then Sonarr would use that info to match the two up.
The benefit of doing this on thexem is that anyone else who is downloading that show will also take advantage of your mapping.
I am not sure that would even help me even if it does work, because the release is titled as a different show that is still in season 1
The whole point of it is to overcome naming issues exactly like this one.
Yeah that may be, however this still does not allow me full control over my system. Why would I bother doing it on thexem when the same can be done directly on thetvdb.com
Both sites require admin approval so that negates their usefulness to me. For example on Thexem there are currently 12 drafts awaiting approval for Fast N Loud. Thexem has to be the most complicated site ever, definitely not easy to use or understand.
It would be so much better to have this editing capability within Sonarr.
Wheemer,
Thetvdb won’t always allow editing just because the release groups are off, many a discussion (and locked series) because someone tries to edit a show to match the pirates. Markus pointed me to thexem irc channel a few weeks ago and they instantly helped me with creating a scene mapping for Cops. I agree, it seems really confusing at first, mostly because some of the buttons you need are hidden at the top until you hover over them. I fast n loud also and the demolition theater specials seem to throw everything off. I say if you can fix the series on thetvdb, then do that.
Also, thetvdb takes the official site of the show as gospel and makes it very clear they don’t care what the release groups think the current episode is.
