Download locations

Possible to add download location for each series ? i have all my TV series organized into there own folders. I know you can use sonarrs rename and move feature, but that stops you from seeding any files. Yes you can use hard copy but that seems a bit buggy. Using utorrents RSS downloader you could choose where you wanted to download to for each series. Would be good if you could do the same with sonarr so that you can keep seeding + have your files organized better.

No this is not possible, we do not have any current plans to support this, though it has been requested:

That’s not exactly the same thing. I would like to be able to save the download locations within sonarr for each series.

Probably as close as we’ll see (assuming we do support it), we don’t have any plans to support different download locations per series.

Is there a way to give a vote for this suggestion?

Everyone using Sonarr - Torrrent - PC - NAS should have this problem?

It’s soo stupid to download to PC, rename and copy to NAS and still have the same file on the PC to seed.

Why does not Sonarr set filename and correct location from start? Then we would have the file in the correct folder with correct filename from start.

No, there is no way to vote on it, but this isn’t something we’re looking at doing any time in the near future though we have logged it on github.

Its a complicated feature that would be used by a limited number of users and there are workarounds to it, such as downloading on the NAS which could use hardlinking if its supported.

Ok. Can I set downloading location in Sonarr, or is this something I have to set as default in torrent client?

Depends on your download client, Sonarr currently supports it for rTorrent, but not other clients.

Deluge supports it natively per label.

Basically every client supports setting the download folder globally so it remains seedable.

But if the folder isn’t in the same partition as the series folder, you’ll end up with copies/duplicates. Which could be problematic if you’re seeding for a longer time.
