Download and monitor monolithic folder

Sonarr version (exact version): 2.0.0.5338
Mono version (if Sonarr is not running on Windows): 4.6.2
OS: Ubuntu 18.04
Debug logs:
Description of issue: Is there a way to tell Sonarr to monitor a single directory for all TV shows instead of adding a new folder for each shot? The torrent client is setup to download the shows in a directory that Plex monitors and manages within its own interface. Plex handles arranging the view of the files from the apps so there’s no need for the physical files to be moved around by Sonarr.

I would like if Sonarr were able to be used as a download manager, but not a library manager. The download automation interface is excellent and a great time saver, but honestly it’s just annoying when it comes to the media management aspect.

Thanks!

No, this is not something Sonarr supports. Best you can do is disable Completed Download Handing and Sonarr will grab, but never know files were grabbed and everything will be missing.

Plex recommends each series to have it’s own folder (though it can work without).

That’s not ideal, but I guess it’s settled.

Are you aware of another piece of software that does the RSS portion without the media management portion? Duplicating episodes on the hard drive is just too big an issue to keep using sonarr :frowning:

Some download clients have basic RSS built in, but not sure outside of that.

If they’re on the same volume there is no need to duplicate, Sonarr will use hardlinks.
