Documentaries not being found

Hello,

I’m having issues with Sonarr finding a number of documentaries such as the following.

History Channel Documentaries
Ancient Apocalypse
Banned from the Bible
Biblical Plagues
Conquest of America (History Channel)
Discovery Channel Documentaries
History Exposed
Science of the bible
TLC Documentaries

I’ve looked into this and as far as I can tell Sonarr has the season/episode naming convention wrong. I tried to create an account on thexem.de to create/request the appropriate modifications, however, registration is closed. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Also, it’s worth mentioning that I’ve found about 2 dozen episodes of the History Channel Documentaries manually and Sonarr couldn’t import them automatically. Also I’ve noticed the indexers return the names as History Channel not History Channel Documentaries.

Thanks in advance for any and all assistance!!

The problem is how they are named, they are mostly released in the format Series Title Episode Title without any strong identifying marks (date or season + episode numbers). Which makes parsing them tough and a bit unreliable.

At the moment there isn’t immediate plans to support this, though we support a similar naming scheme for specials, but its not reliable enough to be converted to another series type for documentaries.

Markus101,

Thanks for the reply and information.

Could we use thexem.de to map episodes which will hopefully make them more reliable? I’d be happy to help configure that.

No, the XEM isn’t useful here, it remaps season and episode numbers that the releasers use to the information that TheTVDB has, since these releases don’t have season or episode numbers there is nothing to remap.

Gotcha, thanks Markus101.

Do you know of any alternatives? Other than manually doing it.

FlexGet maybe?
