First off keep up the great work, i love NZBDrone. I just set it up and it works great. I do not understand why a TVShow downloaded though. I added Breaking Bad as a series with the HD profile, for some reason this morning two BluRay 720p episodes of season 5 downloaded. These are old episodes and i do not have backlog searching enabled. Any idea why they would have downloaded at all? I do not want older episodes downloaded only future episodes. Thanks!
They were just posted, you didn’t have them (or they were upgrades) so they were downloaded. You have two options to prevent earlier episodes from downloading.
- Ignore - Ignore previous episodes/seasons
- Custom Start Date - This is set per series, any episodes that aired (according to TheTVDB) before this date will not be downloaded.
i have had something similar happen with mine before i got two episodes of Sons Of Anarchy replaced with two German versions because the poster did not add GER or GERMAN to the title so nzbdrone grabbed them i think markus101 ended up adding something to the code to prevent this in future and i must say not had the issue since 
the method of custom start date i think would be your best option because i tried setting all my seasons to ignore but then your episode count displayed in series list becomes 0/0 which is not a real issue except if you like to see how many episodes you have for each show
With the custom start date though perhaps this can be made to be overwritten by a forced search i know sometimes if a show i like and i intend on keeping i originally download it in SD as i have bandwidth limits but if it is good i re-download it in HD (i know not the best method for someone who just mentioned bandwidth limits but i don’t do this all the time)
i just tested it and i set a show that i have eps in SD to a custom start date of today onwards but when i changed quality profile then hit the magnifying glass to force a search it did not find anything and when i turn off custom date it then finds it
