Develop upgrade failed, switched to using the app - issues

Hi All,

I originally set up Sonarr using this guide: http://www.htpcguides.com/install-nzbdrone-osx/

Am on the develop branch. Yesterday, when I clicked on one of the Develop branch upgrades, most of my NzbDrone directory got wiped out and my Sonarr was dead. Not sure why.

To get back up and running, I installed the Mac app as now outlined on the download guide. So I have some fragments of Sonarr still present in the NzbDrone directory, and I still have the plist that I created from here: https://github.com/Sonarr/Sonarr/wiki/Autostart-on-OS-X

So I’m trying to figure out how to be properly installed. Can I wipe out that NzbDrone directory completely? I don’t see how that plist script is still working, as I don’t even have an exe in that directory.

Some guidance here would be appreciated!

Jon

Which folder are you looking to delete?

So I have an NzbDrone folder in /Applications AND now I have the Sonarr app. Do I still need to have that directory?

Jon

Whats the startup path for Sonarr now (check System -> Info) if its not in /Applications it should be safe to delete it. You could rename it and see if there are any issues.

The startup directory is: /Applications/Sonarr.app/Contents/MacOS

Jon

Sounds like its fine then. Also make sure you remove the plist you created following that guide.

Ok. I’ll delete it.

Then what is the recommended method to auto start if you use the app? Just add it to my login startup list?

Jon

Yeah, login items as its called now I believe.

Thanks again!
