Sonarr version (exact version): 3.0.0.266 OS: Win 7
Is there a default download directory for Sonarr that I can drop properly named files into and it will see the files then move them into the correct library directory? (I.e. the equivalent of the “TV Download Dir” in the post-processing part of Sickbeard.)
I have a fairly large library spread over five directories/hard-drives/machines so it’s a pain having to work out which directory any particular show might be in. I manually download/create my video files so don’t have any download client set up.
I might be dense here but what’s the purpose of sonarr if you’re not having it download new episodes as they come out?
Insofar as using multiple directories, when you click ‘series’ after you’re done with the setup you are prompted to add at least one directory where your series sit (that is, the root directory, not the individual directories for each series), and you can add multiple roots (so 5 roots).
But again with that setup, all you do is get an overview of which series you have, and there’d be easier/more convenient ways to follow new episodes that come out.

Yes, that’s exactly what I’m using it for… to track missing/new episodes for the 500+ TV Shows I am interested in. I’ll then capture/download those episodes from my Sky Box/Streaming provider etc.
With SickBeard I just dropped all videos into one directory and SB then moved them to the correct TV Show Directory.
Possibly using the TorrentBlackhole variety would do this, I haven’t set it up myself but just looking at the options it appears as if it should work like that, in theory.
You add this in the Download Client section and from then on set up the indexers etc like usual.
It doesn’t actually work quite as well as SickBeard did as it only pick up files in the root directory specified whereas SB would happily pick up /Show/Season/Episode.mkv within that directory. That’s not the end of the world though and I’ll maybe add that as feature request for the devs.
