Hey, guys.
I really like what you’re doing with sonarr. Thanks for your efforts.
I have an issue about getting One piece episodes after 15th season . Sonnar can’t find them even using nyaa as tracker.
Searching directly in Nyaa, the episodes can be found.
If I’m not wrong sonnar is looking for episodes as “Searching 2 indexers for [One Piece : S01E740]” as shown in the logs.
Searching Nyaa as One Piece S01E740, nothing is returned.
Searching for One Piece 740, instead, a lot of options are listed.
So… Can I change the way sonnar search for episodes just for a specific anime? If it is not possible, Can you consider it as a feature request?
I noticed that Sonnar is able to understand other formats of file names. I downloaded episode 756 as a test in 720p outside sonnar and it immediatly recognized and searched for 1080p version, as expected. Since it searched with the correct format (as the name of the file) automatic search and download worked flawlessly.
If I failed to make myself clear, please let me know to give you more details.
Have you set the series type for One Piece as Anime in Sonarr? That will search using absolute episode numbers, not season + episode. In fact if it’s not set to anime Sonarr won’t even search Nyaa.
One more question.
I’m trying to add another Anime named Kaiji. (tvdb id: 81234)
In TVDB, the id 81234 is used for Kaiji and “Gyakkyou Burai Kaiji”. Both are the same anime.
When I try to add Kaiji on Sonarr, it finds as expected.
When I try by Gyakkyou Burai Kaiji, nothing is found.
As Kaiji,I can’t find 1st season, but by Gyakkyou Burai Kaiji theres a lot of releases.
How to fix it?
If it’s the second season in the same series you won’t add it separately to Sonarr.
You’ll need to provide more information/((debug logs)) because I’m not following exactly what the issue is. Sonarr uses thexem.de for alternate names for anime series, if its not on there it will need to be added.
I made a imgur to illustrate some steps of this question, link.
I’ll try to guide you to reproduce the scenario.
Steps:
Open Sonarr
click on “Add Series” Button.
on the search box, type Kaiji.
3.1 One result should be found. (imgur)
Clear the search box and type Gyakkyou Burai Kaiji.
4.1 No results should be found. (imgur)
Considerations:
Both are names for the same tv show and they share the same ID on TVDB as previously posted.
Apparently “Kaiji Ultimate Survivor” is another alternate Name.
The names Gyakkyou Burai Kaiji and Kaiji Ultimate Survivor doesn’t appear in thexem.de
Using the Kaiji as originally found by Sonarr some episodes from 2nd season can be found and nothing else.
What I did, to test, is check Nyaa directly.
Searching Nyaa by “Kaiji” some releases are found but apparently they don’t match to anything sonar is expecting when manually searching. (imgur)
If you still need the logs, please let me know how exactly to get what you need.
There isn’t a series on TheTVDB named that, searching by an alias doesn’t work through their API.
If Sonarr is going to be able to add releases with those names then those aliases need to be added on thexem.de otherwise you will get Unknown Series like you are seeing.
I don’t know how TVDB API works. never used it… I just see that searching in the site it works (link).
How to solve this?
If thexem.de register that names as aliases automatically solves this?
Will sonarr be able to recognize alternative names?
Who can add? Me? You? We open an Issue to somebody else?
I got to know thexem.de after you mentioned, to be honest…
