Create symlinks to dirs after creation based on tags?

Just thought of this, and it’s probably not going to get implemented. But I’ll toss it out.

I’m about to rearrange my downloads and use symlinks to directories so that my wife only sees the shows she likes, same for kids, etc.

If sonaar could create these based on tags, that’d be awesome.

So that if I tag an ep as Me, Wife, Kid1 it will create symlinks in /media/people/Me /media/people/Wife, /media/people/Kid1.

Thanks for reading.

Maybe if https://github.com/Sonarr/Sonarr/issues/439 gets implemented, tags could be passed to the custom script as well?

I was going to suggest the same thing as @Thirrian. The feature seems like a 1% feature, but I don’t think passing tags to the script would hurt. It would only apply after importing, but that seems like a reasonable trade off.

That’s a much better way to handle it.
I like scripts & such for ‘extras’. Allows those of us who want something offbeat to get it.

Since I’ve read that Devs don’t want to mess with the can of worms of symlinks, perhaps Flexget may be of some use. Since Sonarr can feed flexget (simplest terms). I do recall Flexget being able to move and rename files without breaking seed. never could get my config to do it, but I know others have. could be the solution most of us are looking for.

I’ve looked at Flexget a few times, and while I like the idea of it, it doesn’t quite fit me.

Everything is working rather well for me now, additional features I’m asking for are ‘icing on the cake’.

The only thing I haven’t figured out yet is on Plex, I’m the master account. I download shows for my kids, my wife, friends that I have NO interest in.

I’d like a quick & easy way to make each user only see what they want to see.

Symlinks to Series directories would work fine for everyone but me. The master log in pretty much has to see everything. I guess I could create a second log in for me, but that seems awkward.
