I have NZBDrone as a PVR and Newsbins as a client, I would like to migrate to completed download handing but this doesn’t move the downloaded media to my sorted downloads, as soon as I move the Drone factory back the where the downloaded media is, it then starts being moved to my sorted downloads, is there anything i’m doing wrong?
I am pretty sure that Completed Download Handling only works currently with a few clients i can confirm it works with Sabnzbd and i think it works with NZBGet
it uses information from the download history of these clients to detect if there is new episode to process
i would suggest if you want to continue using Newsbins to just disable Completed Download Handling and just use NzbDrone Factory folder and set a Time interval for it to scan your files
Thanks for your reply. Is this something that will be updated for Newsleecher and Newsbins?
No Problem, Whether or not other clients will be supported would be a question for @markus101 i could not say.
however as i mentioned you could just continue to use Drone Factory it works very well and i still use it myself occasionally when i download something from other than usenet or even with usenet just manually and i copy it into the drone factory folder then go into “Wanted” page and press “Rescan Drone Factory Folder” to trigger a scan on demand however if you have it set to do this for you on a timed interval like every couple minutes anything you download or copy into the folder if it matches a show in your NzbDrone list it will take care of it for you
Either one will work just fine i only use Completed Download handling because it is supported with my client but if not i would be perfectly happy using Drone Factory Folder as i have done for a long time previously.
@protocol77 is correct, completed download handling only works with the clients listed in drone (SABnzbd and NZBGet), it will not work with Blackhole because there is no API for drone to talk to.
We have no plans to include other clients at this time, you can either continue to use the blackhole + drone factory folder or switch to another client that drone integrates with (doesn’t use the blackhole feature).
actually, it should work on blackhole, just not as good. Blackhole does a directory scan pretty much like the drone factory does. Although it’s a bit more restrictive coz it doesn’t always detect whether files are unpacking.
But a small disclaimer there, I never actually tested the blackhole setup, so it might actually not work as intended
In any case, it’s still probably better to install one of the existing clients.
