Completed Download Handling and Drone Factory

When Completed Download Handling is activated, is it necessary to set a Drone Factory folder?

I´m using NZBget if that´s relevant… .

No., it’s not necessary, but if you download outside of Sonarr control, then you can use the Drone Factory folder to get Sonarr to process them.

Thank you. These things can be a bit confusing for a slow novice  So anything downloaded by Sonarr via NZBget should get forwarded to the folder containing my series if Sonarr is set to " Completed Download Handling"? Sorry if this is badly formulated!

Yes, that’s correct.

Excellent! Thanks

Hi.
Sonarr shows me new episodes as downloaded in “activity” but episode is skipped (something about path in drone factory folder)).
I undrestand I configured it wrong since sonarr lets me import episode manually.
I want the file moved to tv shows folder, not copied. Is it about torrent still seeding or should I change something in settings?

Sonarr will copy or hardlink if the torrent is still seeding.

You need to change the Drone Factory path to another location to keep them separate though.

But sonarr is not working that way. It keeps the file in torrent folder and doesn’t copy it to tv shows folder even when is showing it as downloaded.
BTW what happens when file finishes seeding? Does it remove the file from download Folder?
Drone factory folder value is at 0 so I only use it manually when sonarr doesn’t import tv shows from torrent folder (different from tv shows). Is it OK?

Thanks because the drone factory folder conflicts with it.

No, the interval is not taken into account, you need to change it to a separate folder.

If Remove Completed Downloads is enabled in Sonarr, then it will be removed.

Hey, I’m reviving this 98 day old thread because I’ve scoured the forum and haven’t quite found an answer to my question.
Here’s what I found. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

I use utorrent, so it makes sense to use CDH.
But on occassion, I download a whole season of a series, manually.
Incidentally, I’ve never managed to get Sonarr to successfully download an entire season, but that’s another matte.
What I usually do is add a torrent of the whole series, all seasons, and Skip all but one season, a season at a time.
Which means, I’ll have a season-ful of files to post-process when the download completes.

I thought I would do that by using a Drone Factory folder.
But whenever I use a Drone Factory folder, whether it’s a different folder or the same folder as uTorrent’s completed downloads folder, Sonarr fails to import completed downloads.
Why is that?

Can I not use CDH with Drone Factory simultaneously?

Please create a new thread, especially when its months old, which is why we’re auto closing them after 2 months now. You can always link back to the original if you think its relevant, but people don’t need notifications for old threads.

Don’t point drone factory at the same folder that CDH is using that will disable CDH because the paths conflict.

Since you’re getting a full series torrent the issue is likely due to Sonarr not being able to figure out what series it is for, drone factory relies on the folder name being something Sonarr can determine what series it is. Series Title works, but Series Title Complete would fail.

You could try manual import, its there for this specific scenario, drone factory is the old import mechanism and is likely going to be removed in v3. You may need to rename the folder for manual import to automatically determine the series though.

Not on the same folder.

Actually, while a Drone Factory Folder is set, Sonarr’s own grabs fails to Import.

I’m not talking about failed imports in my complete series downloads.

So now i’m going to simply stop using Drone Factory and stick to CDH.

But when I do download full seasons manually, how do I manually import?

I though manual import is only available for Sonarr’s grabs which haven’t automatically imported and are in the activity queue

You can manual import any folder via the Wanted: Missing page, not terribly obvious though.

Ah, I found! Thanks. I’m surprised I hadn’t run into it yet!
This is perfect.

Cheers
