Cant readd an already deleted Series back to Sonarr

Sonarr version (2.0.0.4146):
Mono version (4.2.3):
OS: Linux
((Debug logs)) (posted to hastebin or similar):
Description of issue: Cant readd an already deleted Series back to Sonarr.

Hi to all

I had manually downloaded a Series via Deluge and i gave that torrent the label “tv-sonarr”. So after that i went to Sonarr and i added the Series that i was downloading to my Wanted/Monitoring List. After the download had finished through Deluge Sonarr had picked up the download because it had the label “tv-sonarr”. After i watched the Series i decided to delete the whole Series from inside Sonarr. Of course i left the torrent file to continue to seed.

Now the problem starts. After one day a friend of mine wanted ALSO to watch the same Series so i thought i readd the Series to my Wanted/Library and since i have the same torrenting seeding with the same label it would get picked up again. BUT nothing happens the torrent isnt get picked up again. I went into deluge removed the label “tv-sonarr”, restarted again Sonarr, then added AGAIN the label “tv-sonarr” to the torrent and i thought if i add AGAIN the same label to that torrent Sonarr will again pick up the Episodes.

What should i do? I already did everything i restarted Sonarr. I unlabeled/labeled again the torrent from inside Deluge but the Series isnt picking up the data from Deluge.

I must mention that in the Settings i have activated under Media Management the option “Ignore Deleted Episodes”. So could this “Ignore Deleted Episodes” create the whole problem? I dont want to disable this option. Cant i somehow specifically readd that Series? Or cant i somehow remove that Series from the Deleted Database???

Thanks for any help

George

Did you delete and re-add the series to Sonarr so its being tracked by Sonarr again?
Sonarr tracks what it has imported by the torrent hash, but if you removed the series and readded it that that tracking would be removed and it would be seen as something new to import. First thing to try now would be remove the series and re-add it again (via Add Series).

No that doesn’t matter here.

You need to add it through add series, if you haven’t already.

There is no such thing in Sonarr.

I have already added the Series BUT the problem is Sonarr is not picking up the Series from Deluge. The torrent which is seeding has the correct label.

Finally i was able to add the Series but only manually. I had to go to

WANTED > MANUAL IMPORT

Is there no other way? Lets say in the future i am again deleting a Series if i have watched it and lets say after one week i want to add it again for a friend and i have the same torrent still seeding. Why isnt Sonarr picking it up automatically. It was picking it up in the first place but what i have understand is that if someone deletes a Series then it isnt being picked up again automatically IF you readd the Series again a SECOND time. You must do a manual import. Am i corecct?

Thanks in advance

George

It should pick it up, without the relevant logs, probably ((trace logs)) in this case its impossible to say why it wasn’t imported. The issue with Manual Import is it moves the files (not copy or hardlink) which is why I didn’t suggest it immediately.

Yes i realized it now. I tried Manual import and later i saw that the torrent in Deluge was not Seeding anymore. :$@#$!$ Manual import had MOVED the files and corrupted the torrent data!!!

To understand ALL the steps that i have done i point them here out again:

01.) Added Series “ABC” to Sonarr without downloading something

02.) Manually searched a tracker the Series “ABC” and found a complete package with all Seasons.

03.) Manually added the torrent to Deluge and labeled it as “tv-sonarr”. The label “tv-sonarr” is ALSO being used for the Deluge Downloader configuration inside Sonarr.

04.) Switched to Sonarr and saw that it had picked up the download in process. So far so good…

05.) Download completed and Sonarr corrrectly renamed and hardlinked the episodes to my Plex Folder.

06.) Watched the whole Series and later DELETED the Series from INSIDE Sonarr. So Sonarr just deleted the hardlinked and renamed files leaving the torrent still seeding.

07.) Two days later a friend asked me. Hey do you have the Series “ABC” i would love to watch it. I remembered that i have still the torrent seeding since i left it there to build up some ratio. So i added again the same Series with the following config:

 Path: /home/hd1/mantax/media/TV Shows
 Monitor: None
 Profile: HD - 720p/1080p
 Series Type: Standard
 Season Folders: Yes

08.) So then i waited and waited to see if Sonarr would pick up the seeding torrent again but nothing. NADA!.. After 2-3 hours i clicked on the monitoring badge because i thought i had to switch it on so i would force Sonarr to search but instead Sonarr found some releases through my NZB Indexers and started downloading a release that i didnt wanted.

So the problem is clear. It seams that Sonarr is for me not able to pick up a seeding torrent IF the Series was previously deleted. Sonarr cant find again the seeding torrent if i readd the Series. It is the same torrent that worked two days ago. And it has the same label which is the same with the label of Deluge inside Sonarr.

Finally i must say that i have enabled and turned on the option “Ignore Deleted Episodes”. I tried also to turn this setting OFF but again Sonarr was not picking up anything.

HEELPPP

P.S.: UPDATE! I tried to add manually to Deluge another torrent for the same Series BUT a different release from another Scene Release. This time it is working BUT i want Sonarr to pick up the OLD torrent. I want the OLD torrent realease to being picked up because it is smaller in size. I just tried to add a different release to see what happens and it seems that with different releases that it works but once you delete the Series the specific release isnt working anymore.

Thanks in advance

George

UPDATE — TRACE LOG FILES

Hi to everyone.

I tried again the same procedure and this time i have TRACE LOG FILES. Because the trace log files where split between 5 different files sonarr.trace.txt, sonarr.trace.3.txt, sonarr.trace.2.txt, sonarr.trace.1.txt, sonarr.trace.0.txt i combined them into one sonarr.trace.txt file which is about 4MB in size. I uploaded it into my Google Drive and created a shared link. Also i tried again the same procedure and i am gonna describe the steps again with the approximate time i did the specific steps.

The link to the trace log is: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-inH8dfiJe6WEFwd1g0MXkyU3M/view?usp=sharing

The steps that i did are:

01.) At around 11:54 i added the Series “THE LAST KINGDOM” to Sonarr (via Add Series).

02.) At around 11:56 i added MANUALLY a torrent to Deluge for this Series. Again this torrent was added manually to Deluge and NOT from inside Sonarr.

03.) At around 11:57 i labeled the torrent with “tv-sonarr”. The torrent was at this time already downladed about 14%.

04.) At around 11:59 i saw under the ACTIVITY tab that the download was already picked up by sonarr since deluge was configured to have the label “tv-sonarr”.

05.) At around 12:01 i checked Deluge. The download was continuing smooth and i waited that the torrent finishes.

06.) At around 12:11 the torrent finished downloading.

07.) At around 12:13 i checked Sonarr and the Series was perfectly picked up. Also Plex was showing the Series inside its Library. Sonarr correctly renamed and hardlinked the files. The torrent was still seeding and i was happy.

08.) At around 12:28 i deleted the Series from INSIDE Sonarr. I turned ON the option “DELETE ALL FILES”. Sonarr deleted just the hardlinked/renamed files from my Plex media folder and the Series was not appearing inside my Sonarr Library. The torrent was still seeding WITH the label “tv-sonarr”.

09.) At around 12:32 i shutdown Sonarr.

10.) At around 12:34 i restarted Sonarr.

11.) At around 12:37 i wanted to add again the SAME series to Sonarr (via Add Series). So i did the exactly SAME procedure.

12.) At around 12:42 so five minutes later i checked Sonarr if it picked up the data AGAIN because the same torrent we downloaded at the beginning was still seeding with the same label “tv-sonarr”. Sonarr was not picking up anything. By hovering over the status indication for every episode it says “EPISODE MISSING FROM DISK”.

13.) At around 12:43 Deluge was still seeding the same torrent with the same label “tv-sonarr”

So the question is why is Sonarr not picking up the SAME torrent again? IF i add an another realease for the same Series it will get picked up BUT i want the same release. I dont want to add another release because it could be bigger, it could be a worst quality, it could be more GB. I just want to add the same release which is already seeding. Am i doing something wrong from my side?

I must mention that i have enabled and turned ON under MEDIA MANAGEMENT the option IGNORE DELETED EPISODES. But i tried the whole procedure also by turning this option OFF. Again the same. Sonarr seems to not being able to pick up data from the SAME seeding torrent if it was previously deleted. You cant add it. You have to search for another release.

Thanks in advance

George

It seems like Sonarr doesnt lose track of the torrents it imported already by removing the series from Sonarr and re-adding them. I have posted TRACE LOGS at the bottom of this post (the previous post which has the many screenshots) and i also posted a detailed example of my problem. Can someone lookup the above post which has also screenshots of my whole procedure. The link to the TRACE logs is at the beginning of the post and its a Google Drive link.

Thanks

George

I did some digging and we’re not clearing the history (including things that have been imported) when the series is removed and instead relying on another task to clean it up, which looks like oversight on our part as it should be cleaned up after the series is removed.

Eventually it will clean up (when the Housekeeping task runs), which used to run on startup, but no longer does because it was causing issues with some slower systems (would cause the startup process to take too long).

We’ll make sure the history is cleared when the series is removed in an upcoming release. Thanks for the detailed information, it certainly helped track down the underlying issue.
