I have Sonarr installed and it works just fine when I access the UI from the local computer. However, when I go from a different PC on my home network, and enter the computer name:port it just times out.
I also have utorrent, Sickbeard, and Sabnzbd on the same computer as sonarr (all on different ports) and I can access all of the rest of them just fine by entering Server:Port.
Is there any I need to do different to access Sonarr? Not sure if it’s because it’s running as a service or what. I checked the firewall and do see allow exceptions that Sonarr must have created on its own so I don’t think that’s it.
I even tried shutting off sabnzbd and setting sonarr to use that port (8080) but it still wouldn’t connect.
UPDATE: If I completely turn off the Windows Firewall on the machine, then I can connect fine. What sort of exceptions do I need to add to the firewall to make this work? Even when using a port that works for other programs, Sonarr isn’t connecting.
RESOLUTION: OK, stumbled upon the fact that the computer’s network connection was flagged as Public. I changed it to Home and then everything started working fine since the firewall rules were only associated with the Private Firewall. sigh
