Cannot import Series

I am trying to get ND to see my existing TV shows. They are all on a NAS in a couple of folders…ie ‘v:\video\tv shows\current\Mrs Brown’s Boys’ as one example.

I can go through the drop down and it sees all these paths ok - but when I finally select the path - what the search engine then comes up with is ‘Season 1’ and ‘Season 2’. Which is fair enough - I do have two seasons of this show. But I do not want to search and use ‘Season 1’ as the series title. The system needs to search for the title from the last bit of the path - not the seasons.

If I add the series manually - by searching for it (not existing on hard disk), that works a bit better - I can add the series ok, but then it never sees any of my existing files on the NAS. I see some other comments where I have to use the full UNC path - and I have tried that but it does not work.

ND seems to work ok with UNC or even an IP path, all the drop downs see the paths on the NAS. The problem is the code that checks the paths for the existing files does not seem to be.

You need to select the folder that contains all (or part of your series), not the series folder itself. Then it will search for the series name. Recent/Root folders are just helpers for quickly adding shows.

Weird. I should add a folder like ‘’‘v:\video\tv shows\current\Mrs Brown’s Boys\Season 1’ ??

I tried that and one of two things happens -

  1. nothing - nothing added - nothing. Screen just closes and I simply see the ‘Import existing series on Disk’ button
  2. I get this error [POST] Internal Server Error : /api/rootfolder

My season folders only hold files that are named like ‘s01e01’.

No, you would add 'v:\\video\\tv shows\\current\\ then it would list all the shows in that folder so you can add them.
