Cannot access Sonarr remotely

EDIT; I’ve figured it out. I’m an idiot and didn’t disable the firewall properly, so it’s clearly an issue in there somewhere. Sorry!

Hi there, I posted this over on Reddit but despite people’s best efforts in helping me I still can’t figure this out.

I’m not able to access Sonarr outside of my machine and I’d really like to be able to use it remotely, on things like NZB360 and even just the web interface at work etc.

I’m able to access NZBGet, CouchPotato and my Plex server is running just fine, but no matter what I do I can’t get Sonarr to work.

I have tried;

  • Ran Sonarr as an administrator
  • Disabling Windows Firewall
  • Checked that the correct ports are forwarded
  • Reinstalled Sonarr
  • Checked the bind address is set to *

Another post on this forum listed the following steps;

Open a command prompt window and type in GPEDIT.MSC
Then navigate to:
Computer Configuration > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Network List Manager Policies
Find your network
Click on the third tab “Network Locations” and change it to Private.

This works but after doing that I’m unable to access CouchPotato or NZBGet remotely. Is there a conflicting setting somewhere?

Make sure the ports for CP and NZBget are open in the “private” profile, Windows has 3 different firewall profiles based on the connection, Public, Private and Domain and the port needs to be open in the active profile, by default its only opened in the active profile when the rule was created.
