Can Sonarr delete un-needed files in a shows directory?

Moving from SickBeard to Sonarr (Damn, should have done that a long time ago!)

Can Sonarr remove unrelated files in a show directory?

For example, old metadata from sickbeard or metadata downloaded for some other type of device that I no longer want.

The main reason I ask is the naming convention I use now is different than before. So when I moved to Sonarr and let it rename everything, I’ve got a bunch of empty folders…

For example.

Before, I used

/mnt/TV/Becker/Becker.Season.01/

and now I use

/mnt/TV/Becker/Season.01

So there is an extra empty folder there named “Becker.Season.01” - Just curious if there is a way Sonarr can keep the “Becker” folder free of any files it doesn’t need.

Sonarr will clean up empty folders after a rename of the series, but won’t if there are left over metadata files (though any Sonarr handles will be moved along with the file).

It is definitely leaving empty folders after a series rename process.

Were files actually renamed? It will only do it if it’s made changes.

Yes. The rename process works great! It just leave behind folders that the files were in.

Tough to say exactly why it’s not deleting them, but it could be a hidden file in there (if there aren’t any visible files) as Sonarr just checks if it’s empty, not what files are actually there.
