Now that Sonarr is using TVDB, i am having problems with French TV Shows that don’t have English metadata.
For example, Un Village Francais only has data in French. I can no longer access the show in Sonarr because it has no title. I cannot search for it. I do see it in the list of series but again, without a title, i can’t click on it. All i can do is change the show settings.
When using Trakt, there was no support for French metadata… With TVDB, will you be adding support for us to pick the metadata language we wan’t to use? It really changes nothing in indexer searches and series importing i would think…
Please say yes so i can now discontinue SickBeard for good… I have 950+ shows in Sonarr and 30+ French ones are duplicated in SickBeard so it will generate the french metadata.
I wasn’t aware that trakt was converting these titles over like this, thats interesting and a bit of an issue as you’ve shown.
Yes, I think we’ll have to support the information in other languages (we’ll have to support it show anything in the UI) and by extension metadata would be made available in those languages.
No immediate plans for this, but I’ll make sure it gets into our backlog.
It’s pretty messed up because it’s not just the show title… If you look at the episode metadata in English (lid=7), Some episodes have English titles and descriptions and others don’t. Being able to choose French (or whatever the original language is) definitely the optimal solution
Hi prsinister, I too was trying to add Un Village Francais and nada, so I went thetvdb, added English name to its database entry - now sonarr is pulling the series like a champ I suppose other English data can be added in the same way - I’m gonna try when I have time.
