I have got a friend of mine that wants to build a home server but whereas i am using windows for my server OS he wants to use Linux now because i dont have much experience with linux other than mucking around using VM’s
for those here that use Linux as a home server and especially with NzbDrone which distro have you found to be the best and most reliable?
This is going to be a religious debate, but Ubuntu is probably the easiest to get drone on, especially since 14.04 ships with mono 3.2 in the repo, which is what drone needs, making it super simple to get going.
excellent thanks for clearing that up he just asked me and i said i have no idea i have tested a little with NzbDrone on Linux but i ended up going back to windows as the process of setting up and keeping it running was so much easier for me
